On the front page of the Business Section in the San Jose Mercury News was this article – average rates on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage have dropped to 5.14%. That is the lowest weekly rate since the survey began in 1971.

I went with a friend last night to a birthday party at Tumbao, a Latin dance bar and grill, in Logan Square. The frontage of the place is standard for a lot, but the inside is longer at 150 feet. A standard lot in Chicago is 25′ x 125′.
